CookiesEdible Dreams

Cookies, where do they come from and what do we do with them, after eating a wonderful dinner we normally have something sweet to eat, what it may be is usually relevant to the dinner we just enjoyed but more times than not we will have some sort of cookie, cookies are sort of a thin crunchy or thicker flaky dough that has been baked for a short time and usually decorated in some colorful way to please the eye and taste buds of the person enjoying them.

Most of us just enjoy the cookie that we are eating due to its sweet refreshing taste without ever giving a taught to where these delectable morsels had come from to begin with. I believe that the earliest known form of cookie came from the seventh century A.D. somewhere around Persia which today is known as Iran and by the end of the 14th century one could purchase tiny filled wafer like cookies in Paris and by the end of the 16th century as they were called by Thomas Dawson, Goode Housewife?s Jewels.

Today in the 21st century we have cookies for almost every kind of occasion starting with the baby shower and going on all the way through life and ending with the after burial lunch. Cookies are such a part of our lives that we hardly even notice them but when it is all said and done there is nothing like a good cup of coffee and some really good cookies.
